PO Organizes Family Day for Green Communities

CITY OF MATI- People’s Organization (PO) of the City organized Family Day for the GreenCom assisted associations.
The Multi Sectoral Integrated Association of Mati (MuSIAM) initiated a get together activity for the 3 GreenCom Home Farmers Association (GCHoFA) in celebration of the GreenCom 3rd Year Anniversary.
Held last Sept 4 at the Sambuokan Village Brgy. Dahican Covered Court, a total of 200 participants joined the activity.
The GreenCom Anniversary and Family Day featured friendship games, tree planting, group presentation, painting. Prizes and tokens were sponsored by GreenCom Program.

Each group brought their own food for lunch and snacks and they shared it to the other participants in a boodle fight concept.
One of the highlights of the program is the “Panagbinayloay” or barter exchange where in the 3 assisted communities can trade their vegetable and plants to the goods displayed by MuSIAM.
Barangay Integration For Development and Action (BIDA) Program Coordinator and Vice Mayor Glenda Rabat-Gayta awarded the 3 assisted GCHoFA rice and cash as their seed capital for their organization.
The event was participated by officers, members and family members of Fatima-Sudlon GCHoFA, Macambol GCHoFA and Sambuokan GCHoFA together with Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Local Government Unit (LGU) of Mati, Barangay LGU Dahican , BLGU Macambol, Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology (DOSCST), Matiao National High School (MNHS) and Mati Women’s Federation.
