PCUP, Green Communities Celebrates Earth Day

City of Mati- National Earth Day is simultaneously celebrated last April 22 and the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) organized a clean up drive to their assisted green communities in Barangay Dahican.

PCUP Area Coordinator Marilou Tarona said , ” This is in partnership with Barangay Dahican Council under the leadership  of  Nestor Escasinas”.

The clean up  lasted for two hours and was able to collect  20 sacks of garbage in Sambuokan Village  Activity Area alone.

Volunteers included sectors from women, senior citizen and the youth and the baranagy prepared  rice porridge (lugaw) for them.

Meanwhile, the clean up drive  was followed by a Training for  Disaster Preparedness, Crime Prevention and Effective Parenting at Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology (DOSCST) RIC Room.

The training was graced by City Disaster  Risk Reduction Officer Charlemagne Bagasol and he said the follow through would  be the on site  first aid training.
