GreenCom Mati Ready for UCG

City of Mati- The Green Communities Program is setting up its success for the Home Gardening and Nature Farming Seminar through Urban Container Gardening (UCG) this weekend.
Program In Charge Ruth Sophia Tarona said that 74 enrollees will undergo the training to fully grasp the benefits of growing your own food in your own backyard no matter how small it is.
“Participants are pre-selected from the three Homeowners Association of Sambuokan, Fatima-sudlon and Macambol”, she added.
The first day will be Solid Waste Management Training and Technical Assistance for UCG conducted by Mhee Krystallyte Cuestas of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office together with Engr. Victoria Lobaton and Josefa Daclan of the City Agriculture Office. Day 2 is the actual implementation with UCG specialist Jojo Rom.
On the other hand, Green Com Program works hand in hand with Barangay Affairs Coordinating Unit (BACU) Coordinator Vice Mayor Glenda Rabat-Gayta to give simple solutions to simple problems one of which is providing healthy food on table table in every home.

Meanwhile, this activity is in coordination with the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor ( PCUP), City Mayor’s Office (CMO), City Vice Mayor’s Office (CVMO), City Housing and Resettlement Division, City Agriculture Office (CAO), City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CiENRO) , City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) , Barangay Affairs Coordinating Unit (BACU) and Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology (DOSCST)
