CITY OF MATI -People are much familiar with the word recycling wherein it is a process of creating useful things out of waste products. But here in the city , there is a housewife who levelled up in this idea.

Immaculate Roscom-Siblos is born and raised by parents who are proud farmers of San Ignacio, whom she was taught from the very start to be resourceful.
And resourceful indeed, because after she attended the Integration for Development Experience with Urban Container Gardening last 2014, an idea sparked in her to plant a garden in a bottle, which later became one of her means of income .
“The bottles I’ve been using are not sellable in the junkshop and they end up left on the side of the street and a possible breeding ground for Malaria ”, she said
“There are people even institution who were actually willing to extend their help or finance the small enterprise I have come up but as much as possible I choose not to because I want to prove to myself that I can feed my family from the money I earned and saved from garbage waste and scraps of others.” she added.
True enough she is right because during the Christmas Season she was able to earn P8,000 from her Garden In A Bottle and wedding giveaways.
Meanwhile, the City government of Mati recognized her contribution that is why last July 14, 2015 she was awarded as Ikaw ang BIDA Innovator of the Year .
