BACO Organizes Urban Container Gardening for Green Communities

The BIDA (Barangay Integration for Development and Action)Program of the Barangay Affairs Coordinating Office headed by the City Vice-Mayor Glenda Rabat Gayta organized a two-day Urban Container Gardening Workshop for their integrators.
Held last October 17-18 at the BGR Garden Place the seminar is designed to demonstrate UCG as a system, technology for ecological waste and home-based livelihood mechanism as entry point for organizing green communities.
Glenda Rabat-Gayta said that “The Integrators who will be completing the course Integrators Processing Workshop are projecting as “Laging Handa” for barangay development”.
Meanwhile, internationally recognized Agriculturist Perfecto Jojo Rom is the resource speaker of the workshop. “UCG produces savings , especially, the food intake as an income and it directs the gardener to join social enterprise”, he said.
BACO is under the City Mayor’s program administration in the 26 Barangays. This particular program shall substantially produce selected “Integrators” to act as the trainers, organizers, bridge of development interaction within their respective barangays with a support system emanating from the key offices of the City Health Office, City Environment Office, City Agri Office, City Social Welfare and Development, City Housing and Resettlement Office, City Planning Office.
